We are thrilled to officially be part of Pink Initiative! For those of you who are not aware, Pink Initiative is a collection of wedding industry professionals and private donors dedicated to funding awareness, outreach, education and research for breast cancer. Brides, follow Pink Initiative on Twitter to receive fun Wedding Facts and important Pink Facts.
On a related note, Jen, our associate coordinator, is participating in the Susan G. Komen San Diego Breast Cancer 3 Day. I’m told might be dying her hair pink for the walk! If you would like to help her “save second base”, please make a donation today!

Are you a DIY bride who wants to personalize your wedding, but not sure how to make professional looking stationery? If so, there is a resource that you must visit…Paper Source! Just the other night I stumbled upon their store in Carlsbad, CA at The Forum and I fell in love. Not only do they have a plethora of beautiful paper to choose from, they also have wonderful ladies who are willing to help you brainstorm and teach you how to use their tools. In their own words, they “offer the inspiration, ideas and materials to help you plan and create something original and beautiful, whatever your budget.”
The Carlsbad store just published their January 2010 workshop schedule which includes Save the Dates, Favors, Invites and Handmade Album classes. The classes are offered at $35 – $50.
Not in the San Diego area? Check to see if there are Paper Source workshops scheduled at a location near you!

Lisa and Tim were married at Ole Hanson Beach Club in San Clemente under a Coral tree with gorgeous views of the Pacific ocean. Lisa did an absolutely amazing job of selecting decor and adding in DIY touches in her pallet of brown, purple and greens.
The ceremony music was some of the very best and most unique I have ever experienced for a wedding. Noah Needleman played John Mayer’s Heart of Life and Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars, among others as guests were seated and for the ceremony processional. He also played up on the terrace during cocktail hour.
To keep the party going after the reception ended, Lisa and Tim hired OC Cruiser’s Woody style mini-bus to take themselves and their guests to a local wine bar and then back to their hotel. What a fun and relaxing way to spend the rest of the evening with their closest friends and family!

Anjeanette and Jimmy were married on the North Lawn at Marina Village with the marina in the background. They included a sand ceremony and a rose ceremony to honor their moms. The flowers were kept beautifully simple with an arch arrangement, aisle flowers and a petal path.
My favorite thing about Marina Village is that you can essentially take a blank canvas and, with the right vision, transform the room into whatever you’d like it to be. Anjeanette did just that! The Sunset room overlooking the marina was truly transformed into a fairytale with the use of black linens and chair covers with Victorian lilac sashes, ivory tulle with lights and a lot of candlelight.
Anjeanette took special care to incorporate some of Jimmy’s favorite things into the day by naming the tables with types of fish and ordering a surprise ‘Great Catch’ groom’s cake. They also treated their guests to a candy buffet complete with Swedish Fish.
